The Little Nail Hut ♡

Heh yay to being more hardworking and posting more regularly on my blog! (:

Went to do my nails with Cleo last Thursday, and we were very very blessed to be sponsored by Bernice, who's a nail manicurist and she runs her own nails business at home which is at Kovan and it's called The Little Nail Hut! I usually don't get to do my nails very often, and so I was really really elated to be able to have this nails session especially for the CNY season (: On top of that, it's my first time doing gelish nails too!

Bernice's Trophies in a nails competition! (:

Bernice was really hospitable and the cozy space she uses for nails is on the second floor of her home, and it has a couch for friends to chill around on while waiting for their turn(which was what Cleo and I did!). It's my first time doing my nails at a home-based sort of environment, and it was really nice because it's quiet and very comfortable unlike usual nail parlours where the manicurists would be rushing around when the place's crowded.

Pretty nails in progress!

I picked a floral motif design which I saw online while googling for ideas, and Bernice suggested a lovely pearly  base to go with it. The flowers are intricately painted by her, and each nail is unique on it's own (:

Before I end off, here are some photos of my nails! I've left all my photos in this post unedited, so it's really the true colours of what you'll see here:

Posed with my favourite Love, Bonito Curcio Clutch in silver here as well:

Love how the pearly base with the pastel florals exudes a girly but yet classy vibe, and I'm really glad I went ahead with the pearly base instead of the white base I had initially wanted to get (: Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at The Little Nail Hut, and it was a great time getting to know Bernice as well as spending some girly time with my fellow LB fan Cleo hehe (:

Oh yes, Bernice charges $48 for a gelish manicure complete with classic manicure services and a soak-off to remove the gelish manicure as well. Nail art prices vary at different prices, depending on what sort of design you're thinking of going for! For mine, it required more painting and delicate skills so it'll be an additional $40 more for the nail art.

So if you're looking to do your nails, don't hesitate to try out The Little Nail Hut! (:

Can't wait for the week to end and then it's gonna be CNY! Hang in there everyone

FreshKon Cosmetic Lenses; Alluring Eyes

Hi everyone! (: I've recently been sponsored by CozyCot with FreshKon's Alluring Eyes Cosmetic Contact Lenses, and here's my review of them!

I've been a contact lens wearer since I was in secondary 2 when I got them for my Netball days (: But however, I had a corneal ulcer just last year due to an infection from my fortnightly contact lenses ): Hence, from then I've switched to wearing daily lenses instead and I've also changed to wearing glasses more often so that I won't strain my eyes again!

This is my first time trying out cosmetic lenses, and I was really excited because I've heard how they actually can help to make your eyes look bigger and brighter?! And which girl wouldn't want bigger and brighter eyes hehehe.

How the packaging looks like

Close-up of the lenses casing

There were 3 colours to choose from and they are:
1. Mystical Black
2. Winsome Brown
3. Magnetic Grey

I chose Mystical Black cause my eyes are really black, and I didn't feel that adventurous to try out other colours and decided to play it safe for the moment.

The black lenses!

When I first tried them on at Paris Miki at Bugis Junction, I did feel a little weird after putting them on and even started to tear! ): I asked the optician immediately about it, and PHEW! She assured me that it was normal because:
1. They're slightly thicker than usual contact lenses
2. You're looking through a coloured flim, so vision may get slightly hazy at night/after a long day
3. Your eyes may tend to get dry more easily

I was really relieved, and she reassured me that it does take a little to get used to them and that it's normal to feel a little discomfort for first-time wearers (: (So don't worry if you've felt this way for the first time as well!)

I wore them out on Saturday, from about 3pm to 12+ in the night, and I must say, they felt pretty okay! (: I didn't feel any discomfort, except that perhaps my eyes started to get drier towards later in the night, but it was still alright! (:

Out with the lenses.

The lenses definitely did make my iris look larger and brighter as well, and I think they are perfect for special occasions/dates/parties where you'll need that extra "oomph" to finish your look!

FreshKon's Alluring Eyes lenses are said to provide superior comfort due to a hydrophilic(water loving
) surface, Hyaluronic Acid for optimum ocular lubrication and hydration and it also acts as a UV inhibitor which blocks out 80% UV and 96% UVB rays! (:

Overall, I feel that these lenses are of a rather good quality and I'm so glad I got to try them! (: However, I don't think it's that good to put on lenses every day though? It's best to let your eyes have a break every few days after contact lens wear! (:

Ah, okay I'm gonna go to bed now alrd! Goodnight world x. Have a great week ahead everyone

You had me at 'Hello'.

Finally found some time to blog! My internship has started since Monday, and it's been kinda hard adjusting my body clock back to like waking up at 7am. Ah, I wish I was having a normal semester again, but I really didn't want to do an FYP, so I picked the internship route! I'm currently interning at Exploit Technologies, which is a subsidiary under A*STAR. It's been quite challenging there so far, but hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon -crosses fingers-!

Anyway, I wanted to blog about my couple photo shoot experience about a few weeks back with Tzu (: We were very kindly sponsored by Roy Pek Photography, which is run by my JC mate, Roy, who's the photographer (:

We had our shoot at the National Museum for the more formal shoot, and here are some of the photos! (:

The biggest worry I had before the shoot was that, what if we don't know how to pose?!?! Hahaha but the awesome thing is that, Roy pretty much directed us the whole time, which I thought was really great because usually people don't really know how to keep doing different poses etc (: And he really knows the spots to take the shots as well, so it was really easy and mega fun for this shoot!

Really loving this Covet Jacen Dress piece from Love, Bonito as well, which I picked to wear for the shoot (: The skirting is really flowy and the forest green colour is just super gorgeous!

"Can I have this dance?"

Wheeeeeeeeee~

Me: "Why you so tall!!! Squat down more hahaha."
Tzu: "I'm alrd squatting down a lot!"

Together forever, you've stolen my heart ♡ (':
Thank you for always putting up with my crazy ideas and loving me.

That's all for the formal photos, casual shoot photos are coming up soon! (:

Oh yes, don't be shy to drop Roy an email to enquire about a photoshoot! He's really nice and friendly and he takes photos for landscapes, pets, graduation, friends and families as well. Do check out his FB page here or website(link provided at the beginning of the post) (:

Gonna head off to bed now, goodnight everyone! I'm so glad it's Friday
