NDP: Mobile Column segment - Media preview

It's back to work for me and I'm still trying to adjust to work - hoping that I'll be able to settle into the flow of things soon! Anyway, I had the opportunity to attend the media preview of the Mobile Column segment for this year's National Day Parade a couple of Saturdays back (:

(Image from www.ndp.org.sg)

The Mobile Column segment is a display of the various assets from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

A sneak peek!

And for Singapore's Jubilee year this 2015, a total of 177 assets from the SAF, SPF and SCDF would be featured in the Mobile Column segment - which includes crowd favourites such as the Leopard 2SG Battle Tank and the Bionix II Infantry Fighting Vehicle. Furthermore, spectators would be able to see naval assets not featured in previous mobile columns as well (: It's gonna be really spectacular for this year!

We attended a briefing at the start of the media preview event and at the end of it I actually had the chance to ride in one of the army vehicles - which was incredibly cool because I've never been in one before?! Heh.

In the midst of interviews

This theme for this year's Mobile Column is "Strength". It's split into 4 parts - "Giving Strength to our Nation", "Strength in Action", "Strength for Our Home" and "From Strength to Strength". It would actually be telling a story of strength, not only through the display of advanced capabilities of the SAF team and Home team but also through the real stories of the people behind these vehicles.

Through this year's Mobile Column, it would start off with paying tribute to SAF's pioneers with Col Goh Lye Choon (pictured below!) riding alongside the Mobile Column Commander at the start of it to the end message of how this strength is to be carried on by the succeeding generations of Singaporeans.

All in all, I'm definitely excited to catch the Mobile Column segment for this year's NDP and I hope you are too! (: Here are more photos of other vehicles:

Family bloggers and their lovely kids - they blog over at sengkangbabies heh! (:

And yes, I got to ride in a military vehicle (the Bronco) at the end of the media event!!

This is the vehicle I got a ride in

My view above

A very thrilled me hahaha

Stuck my camera out for a photo along the way

It was quite an experience being in the Bronco - I had to wear a helmet while in it and it was really really heavy hahaha. I'm really glad I got the chance to ride in one of the vehicles and have a taste of how it's like in a real army vehicle. It's really not easy to be in a confined space for long and to be dressed in uniform while in it! Kudos to all the guys who are in the army and serving the nation (or has completed service to the nation)! (:

Gonna end off my post with a last photo:

Just had to get a shot with the battle tank - how cool is this really!!

I've always loved National Day and I'm definitely proud to call myself a Singaporean; I can't wait to catch the parade this year and celebrate National Day! (:

Have an awesome week ahead everyone!

New Moon Collagen Powder: Nourishment for your skin (SP)

Hey guys! I'm back with a quick post - hopefully everyone's week has been good so far (: I'm gonna be sharing about New Moon's Collagen Powder; which is a new and premium collagen powder with one of the highest collagen content at 5,460 mg. It comes along with other perks such as it having low calorie-count with anti-ageing properties as well.

New Moon's quite a popular brand around Singapore (I'm sure almost everyone's familiar with their abalone heh) and it has actually been awarded the Singapore Prestige Brand Award - Heritage Brand Award by the Association of SMEs in recognition of its rich brand heritage and identity as wella s its strong brand presence and performance.

Firstly, so what exactly is collagen

Collagen is a specific protein produced by our cells which "holds" skin together - giving it elasticity and making it look/feel firm. While we are young, collagen continues to replenish and regenerate and hence, our skin is usually plump and smooth. As our bodies age, collagen replenishment slows and with sunlight exposure, existing collagen depletes as well and it shows on our skin eventually with the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin ):

New Moon's Inner Radiance Collagen Powder actually nourishes and rejuvenates skin for better and more radiant looks to your complexion with these:

1. Collagen dosage of 5,460 mg
2. Glutathione (which promotes whitening)
3. Ceramide and Hyaluronic Acid (for anti-ageing with moisturising effects)
4. Probiotics which rejuvenates skin by enhancing growth of beneficial bacteria in the intestines. A balanced microflora in the intestines will clear up breakouts! (:

So basically, its benefits include: boosts for collagen supply, hydration of skin, nourishment of skin from within, stimulation of skin to produce collagen naturally and lastly, brightening of skin tones for a more glowing look (:

Plus, it comes in rectangular sachets which are easy to use, store and can be consumed anytime and anywhere! Simply add one sachet (daily) into a warm or cold beverage and drink it (: However, do take note that collagen powder contains high amounts of Vitamin C which will be destroyed at high temperatures of more than 75 degree Celsius.

It's retailing at $49.90 over at supermarkets, pharmacies and selected department stores if you're interested in getting a box! (: And, if you're not much of a powder mix-in person but you'll like to give this product a try, there's also the New Moon Inner Radiance Collagen Drink which was previously launched earlier in April heh (:

Here's to a lovely weekend ahead everyone!

The Sleeping Rhino @ Klapsons

Nothing beats having brunch on a Saturday morning after a good night's sleep. I was invited down for a brunch session over at The Sleeping Rhino which was a restaurant located at Klapsons the Boutique Hotel Singapore on a weekend a few weeks back and here's my post to share about it!

The place:

We were seated down promptly when arriving at about 12 in the afternoon on a Saturday. Here's the menu:

We ordered the Crab Cake Benedict, Salmon Benedict and Homemade Pancakes (us being greedy as usual hehe)!

Happy face because....FOOOOD.

The dishes were served pretty quickly and we couldn't wait to dig into this spread!

Our items!

Crab Cake Benedict (bacon added on)

Inside the crab cake

Egg-y goodnesssss

Salmon Benedict (with added sausage)

Tzu happily nomming!!

Overall, we loved the eggs benedict plates served to us! The eggs were perfectly poached and the portions were big and came with sauteed mushrooms, salad and crab cake/salmon (depending on which you picked). I felt that the crab cake could do with a little less floury taste in it but it was still pretty delicious together with the eggs. As for Tzu, he was very much satisfied with his plate of Salmon Benedict! (:

Homemade Pancakes

The pancakes were my favourite. They were light, fluffy and tasted wonderful with the fruit and maple syrup. At the price of $12, I thought these were really awesome. If you like your pancakes fluffy and light (cause some people prefer to have a denser version to pancakes), this is definitely the place to be at.

IT'S SO FLUFFYYYYYY!

We left The Sleeping Rhino with our tummies full and happy that Saturday heh. Thank you so much to Klapsons for having us!

Klapsons is offering a fantastic discount of 20% off their brunch menu till the end of 2015! Simply flash this blog post or any of my Instagram posts featuring them to get entitled to the discount (:

Brunch hours run from 7-11am on weekdays and 7am-2pm on weekends!

Tulles and embroidery.

My outfit for SGFW and well, what can I say? My love for tulle skirts is still going strong; I love them all - be it short, midi or maxi length. There's just something about tulle skirts that makes a girl feel like a princess. Paired it with an intricate embroidered crop top in black with my favourite pair of pearl earrings and some simple rings. Hair's done up by Cat - my stylist from Black Hair Salon who has never failed to bring out the best in my otherwise unruly hair! Truly thankful for her talented touch and this up-do was completed by her in a quick 45 minute time frame - I'm always gonna be amazed at how fast she works!
